does your system create some coordination between the city departments on these issues? >> i can tell you the speed limits are by the street department and a lot of the work time is guided by vision 0, and so i -- i mean, i'm assuming that that street, that diamond street would be on the vision 0 plan and the high injury network. and so assuming it is, it should be on our streets plan to address those issues. i'll check with that. >> i can tell you it's been on the list for a year and the problem is that the fire department's emergency vehicles hit a bump and the firefighters in the cabinet hit the roof of the car and lose control of the vehicle. that's one thing that happens. the second thing is it slows ambulances. so, understandably there is a problem there. the problem can only be addressed if people talk to each other and as i look through the bonds' priorities, one of them is safer moving around the city and also better speed for people. so, that was a concern that i wanted to raise that we start addressing in some way, whether or not the bond funds can be used to h

ronen, urging the arbitration board to incorporate one of the city's proposals into the mum dumb of understanding -- memorandum of understanding between the city and county of san francisco and police officers association which is now in arbitration. city proposal number 22 includes language that propose changes involving any of the 272 recommendations from the 2016 department of justice report showing notice to the san francisco police officers association and that the association shall have 14 days to respond rather than the 30 days period of changes to general orders. if no agreement is reached, that would impact procedures. the u.s. department of justice released a report in 2016 with specific ways they need to change practices in the department to address a range of findings. the department is taking steps to put into place these reforms to address issues, including use of force, bias, community policing, accountability and recruitment hiring personnel practices. this city proposal is critical for these efforts to be success. . being the wife of a 35-year veteran of the police department, i know intimately the job of policing is

they were one by one giving speeches here in the quad in between the city hall chambers and city hall itself. take a look at the video. this was shot a little earlier. about 200 of 1,400 of the student body at the high school left class and came to the performing arts center for a one-hour forum. elected leaders from santa clara county, the school district and more all on stage to answer questions. this movement stems from the rash of gun violence at schools across the nation. a student at forest high school in ocala, florida, today was shot in the ankle and suffered a non-life-threatening wound. a 19-year-old is in custody. organizers at today's town hall say they are saddened despite the shooting like today's and the shooting at marjory stoneman douglas high school back in february, nothing changes. >> we need regulations. we need to start somewhere. if we regulate gun as little more that would make our community a lot safer. so, i figure if we keep saying it and if we are loud enough then maybe someone will finally do something about it. >> reporter: they brought that message here
