mark rylance who won the academy award for bridge of spies plays the bfg.s the performance. they put dots on his face and they capture the performance and they build this 25-foot giant from that digital performance. it's insane how good it looks. you can see his eyes, it feels so real and photo realistic. i gave it a 4 out of 5. i think this movie and bridge of spies are the two best things spielberg has done since 2005 munich. i had a chance to talk to steven spielberg and i asked him a question about, if he directed this film in the '80s. how would he have done it. he would have used forced perspective without the cgi effects. what about directing jaws nowadays, would you use a cgi shark versus the animatronic one you used? >> i remember there was a lot of issues when you were making jaws with the shark. would you do a cgi today? >> yeah. it would have saved a lot of us our sanity. we would have come out of that with good memories. but i think that the lack much charcot owe technical breakdowns of the shark in 1974 really forced me to find another way of

it's bfg. it does a great job of balancing comedy and drama and action.ted a giant from his performance. he won the academy award for "bridge of spies." this is his best film since "bridge of spies" in munich. great comedy. see it in 2-d. save yourself the movie on the 3-d conversion. i had the chance to talk with steven spielberg which is a huge honor as a film nerd. we talked about this movie and the book came out in the '80s. how would he have done it in the '80s, so i flipped the question and i said, okay, what if you did "jaws" now? would you use the cgi shark or would you still use the animatronic shark you used in 1974? watch this. i know there was a lot of issues when you were making "jaws" but would you do it cgi today? >> yeah.
