this is a celebration of mexico's bicentennial. >>> a graduate student returning his first marathon ever25-year-old keith becker posted two hours 23 minutes and 28 second and it was a new record for the race. marie carson won on the woman's side. 23,000 people took part in the 32nd annual event. >>> they said keep running because it was chilly, right? >> yes. that is where we are at tonight. moving on overhead into san francisco and into the bay, it is a little bit thicker out there tonight. we will likely see some drizzling along the shore. temperatures will be down to 53 degrees. 70s and 80 inland and only 50s and $60 out towards the coastline. 50s and 60s at this hour and high pressure is breaking down and guess what, this trough will camp out on the coastline and we have some cooler air coming our way. we are well below the average through the middle of the week. we'll see some sunshine and temperatures are running cooler all around the bay area. we'll see 60s and 70s and the far reaches will be through the bay. temperatures will continue to drop below normal as we head to wednesday

it included a selection of music by mexican composer in celebration of mexico's bicentennial.ery relaxing. lawrence has thunderstorms to talk about. >> it's been an exciting day. not necessarily in our area but over the sierra nevada. a lot of sunshine in spots well away from the coastline. toward san jose, a great evening on tap as lieu at beautiful sunshine there. started out gray early on. we got more gray stuff coming your way as it looks like low clouds and fog on the coach. we have 1, 2, 3 people out there. that's about it. as we are keeping the cool temperatures out of the immediate beaches. ann mentioned the thunderstorms. they are firing up. they were getting going good for a while. things were moving along. those are lightning strikes coming down right now. we have seen dozens of strikes all along the seer nevada. they continue to fire up in the take who area -- tahoe area. these are caused by moisture wrapping around a ridge of high pressure and that gives rise to the thunderstorms outside. all right. you got thunderstorms up there. we have a lot of fog around the b

thompson: madam speaker, i rise today as a lifelong resident of howard, pennsylvania, to honor its bicentennial. howard, a small community of almost 700, has an extensive history dating back to the first settlers in the late 1700's. it was named after english philanthropist john howard. howard features many -- several historical structures, such as the post office built in 1828, a methodist church dating back to 1843 and house fathers 1810. in the 1820's, howard produced a growth. the howard iron works attracted settlers. the first store opened in 1829 and the town was known for the wool factory during the last century. i recently sell participated in a parade. seeing residents come out and celebrate our history is humbling. we are proud of this friendship. i'd hope to see howard continue to prosper through another 200 years. it's a great town and a welcoming place to live. and congratulations to the howard citizens on its 200th anniversary. and i yield back the balance of my time. the speaker pro tempore: are there any further requests for one minutes. -- minutes? seeing none, for what purpose
