i am the only bilingual consultant. by -- we help small businesses in chinatown and other chinese- concentrated areas. i have worked with so many different businesses. i notice a lot of them do not know chinese and they were glad, he is glad that we have someone to speak chinese for us so i have been having a lot of them and that is how i got to know him. i used to be there, i never had any problem after eating there. in the last couple of years, i started helping him getting back his business. we usually provide technical support. there are some things we cannot do. what i have been able to come up with, i said, you have got to have something, if you've got back your business license, you have to work for support. food safety is important and he understands that. he has a plan to how to upkeep of the food sanitary. we worked together to ensure the health and sanitary conditions of this restaurant is up to the city code of food safety codes. he always has pest control. in the last -- in the last century has had his busi

we serve a range of business owners and employees with 14 bilingual staff in contact position to speak spanish and chinese, both manned and cantonese. our largest direct service is the office of work-force development. office of small business has a total number of clients with limited english proficiency -- proficiency -- the total number of clients is 2014 and 266 are clients of limited english proficiency. we think that number does not accurately represent a small businesses out there with owners with limited english proficiency and we think the jobs proposal will help us reach those businesses much more effectively. i will get into that program later in my presentation. with regard to the work force, they have served 2709 individuals as of april 30. 657 are of limited english proficiency, about 24%. with regard to work force, the budget is projected to grow in fiscal year 2012-2013. that is largely due to federal grants. there are three department of labor grant initiatives we are currently working on. one is a technical training grant, a disability program and an enhanced job demo

we do provide multilingual services and we have both bilingual volunteer providers and interpreters always available. in terms of our services, janet mentioned we are not a walk-in clinic or honor system clinic. we are a medical home model. which provide comprehensive care. each new visit, the patients received a medical health exam as well as a mental and dental exam. anything from additional employment support to being a care provider for a relative. we have a very strict no show policy. we expect our patients to engage and invest in their health care. if someone does not communicate with us that they cannot make an appointment, they are at risk of being dismissed from the clinic. as a result, we have a very low no show rate, which is good. volunteers are coming in giving their time. as of today, we have almost 800 patients enrolled in our care. we have completed over 2200 medical visits and we have made almost 2000 referrals. when i say referrals, we have a broad network of medical partners, which danna will tell you a little bit about in a minute. it enables us to provide incredibly co

we have the country's only filipino bilingual school. we have health centers, parks, churches with filipino residents and their families. we still have a concern about the recent move to push the border north to 13th street. is higher than the previously proposed 15th street northern border, which was in the map as recently as april 4. it is higher than the community unity map version with the district 9 border at 16th street. it is important to filipino community stays unified and has a voice politically.
