bennett. >> thank you. it's good to see you. it won't surprise you to know that i'm going to sta with our 1200 year drought in the rocky mountain west. we've reintroduced our bill to protect the watersheds and do whatneeds to be done with our national forests. i was very pleased that we were able to work togethero include the $10 billion when you combine the money an the infrastructure bill and the reduction act for the mitigation for all of that. that's a big chunk of money, an unprecedented amount of money and less than the 60 billion we spent the last five years fighting fires in the west but as you know and i know you kw this it is a much cheaper way of dealing with the issue we are confronting. i nder if you can give the committee an update about how you are thinking of spending that money and getting it on the landscape and making sure that we make them most of what congress has appropriated. >> the first thing we needed to do is to identify where the most significant fire shed risk was in the west. d we identified that in that 21 priorityandscapes. 250 fire sheds and the landscapes roughly 45 millioncres all told. were in the process of investing nearly
