a friendship with bill clinton. so he goes to bill clinton ask says how would you like it if i donated millions of dollars to the clinton foundation. and bill clinton said i would like it very much. and before you knew it bill clinton and that guy were on a fight over to kazakhstan which rodriguez is probably saying where is that it was far away. and got a lot of urine up. so they go over there, bill clinton says nice things about the kazakhstan leader running a terrible country at the time all sort of problems. and when bill clinton goes on the plane back home suddenly this dude who promised the money to the clinton foundation he gets great news from the head of kazakhstan you got your interest in the uranium. here you go. got it right? is that about it? >> that's exactly right. and then the kicker is right after that the canadian investor gives $31 million to the clinton foundation and promises $100 million more. so this was -- this is as clear as you can a pay for play situation. >> let me stop you one second. ju

bush and bill clinton started decreasing military spending significantly. the great success of dick cheney and kneeneoconservatives. they don't threaten our difference the way stalin did or hitler did. yes, we need to defend ourselves against these terrorists but you don't need nuclear submarines to do that. so we have to defend ourselves. we can do that much more cheaply than now. i want us to be strong but we don't have to be five times as strong as everyone else. we have some allies that can help. here's the deal. there's kind of a default position that says being a leader. if there's trouble anywhere in the world, we need to be the ones taking the lead to defeating it. first, that's very hard to do in some places. our military is great at stopping bad things from happening, but they can't make good societies elsewhere. and the default is well we have to do that because we're the leaders of the world. so don't be the leaders of the world. >> ask the british how interventions work. >> yes. >> they had a whole empire. it didn't work out so well in the end.

the problem is when shethey share the stage and they follow each other on stage, following bill clintonry tough act and hillary clinton is not as politically gifted. bill clinton, it is hard for him to control his temper. he can go get angry very quickly when they are criticizing his wife when his wife is being criticized. and at some point he's going to have to rein that in. i don't think that's going to be easy. >> let me ask you congresswoman, as a female politician. there are different standards, fair or not. right? >> there are different standards. i think one of the standards that will come into play that people will look at hillary and say did he pave the way for her. and would she have been able to be where she is if not for bill clinton. >> he argued very publicly that she should have been president first. >> i know he does. and but, the perception with people is he has paved a lot of the way for that just like people feel like hillary has excelled because the media runs interference or team hillary runs interference for her, and so thereby she's been able to get where she is.

clinton folks will try to keep him scripted as much as possible. >> well, it might not take long for bill clintonet. rand paul has already said he plans to attack hillary clinton's honesty. what's your view on that strategy? >> well i think it's a sort of double bonus for rand paul in terms of going after the democratic candidate, the presumed democratic front-runner at this point. but also it's not just about hillary clinton, it's about rand paul showing republican voters that he's tough. to go out there and be the one who's leading with his chin being critical of her, saying he can take her on. i think it's something that very much is an appeal to republican voters that he's the guy to take her on in the general election and that he's tough enough to be their nominee. >> well, you know, rand paul really seems to focus on domestic issues and appealing to his antiestablishment base. is that going to resonate though on a broader scale? we saw him announce his run yesterday. >> well i think there's a lot of people out there who feel like the united states has been too invested in foreign policy. i'
