so when they couldn't get the raises they wanted from mayor bill de blasio, their union, the pda, opted for arbitration. it's a binding process. once the arbitrator makes it happen in the next couple of weeks, they'll have to take what they can get, and the police union islfurious after learning ey're about to get two 1% raises for the first two years of their outstanding contract which dates back to the year 2010. it would not be a better deal than what the other city unions got from city hall in the first two years of their contracts. the deal that the city offered to pda adds up to an 11% raise over seven years, and it's exactly what five other unions, captains, lieutenants and firefighters were given by city hall, though the firefighters have been holding out before rat ratifying their deal to see how the police do in their arbitration. teachers were given 10% over seven years. i asked bill de blasio whether the nypd or leave it to the arbitrators. >> that is a process still going on, melissa, so i'm not going to comment on it as the arbitration is still playing out. i believe the p
