bill donahue is the president of the catholic league, and, bill, we asked georgetown for a statementn this, they said, well, she's not speaking at commencement, she's going to speak at the annual student and faculty awards event. is it a distinction twowt -- without a difference? >> it is, and can they know it. they ought to correct their web site, i saw it this morning. this is about a war between the catholic left and the bishops. they're angry toward the bishops because they're tilting towards republicans. believe me, if anything, thai overwhelmingly democratic, and they have been for a long time. the it is true they've stood up against the mandate forcing catholic nonprofits to pay for abortion-inducing drugs in their insurance plans. because of that, it's perceived their anti-obama, and now they're saying bring it on, fellas, because we're after representative ryan -- which they just got finished blasting about a week or so ago -- but they like kathleen sebelius. i don't even know if this woman is a catholic, and the reason i say that, you can be excommunicated in the catholic c

bill donahue is president of the catholic league and he's here to tell us more. how are you doing, carol? >> i'm good. so, bill, what's the big concern by the bishops? >> well, i think the bishops have a moral responsibility to be responsive to the mothers who have come forward over the years to parish priests and the bishops saying we're concerned about the politicalization of the girl scouts. what do they mean by that? well, the global group, the world group of the girl scouts is in favor of abortion inducing drugs, is in favor of condemn use. does that mean the girl scouts of the united states are? we don't know. we do know one thing, in 2004 the ceo of the girl scouts of america went on broadcast television bragging about the close relationship between the girl scouts and planned parenthood. so those are just some of the concerns, and all they're doing is looking into it and being responsive to the mothers who have come forward. >> one of the concerns, as i understand it, is some object to these materials given to the girl scouts about organizations like docto

. >> and bill donahue of the catholic league points out the day "the times" did that they wrote a 4,000amming the catholic and protestant schools in this country. the question is why? is it part of a general narrative? >> i think that's right. some people think it's activism on the part of reporters. i think possibly a more innocent explanation exists for this. it's part of the narrative. the narrative so far among the mainstream media is it's republicans waging war on women and so what happens is if you -- if you cover the story and mention the lawsuit, that's all these 43 catholic groups making it, this then you have to realize that it's not the only issue. it's actually religious liberty that is part of the issue. i don't think the mainstream media wants to admit it. they look like they have egg on their face. >> catholics make up 25% of the electorate, it's something they ought to be paying attention to moving forward. it looked like up to this point, there had been somewhat balanced coverage of romney vs. obama. i say somewhat compared to 2008. moving forward, does this suggest tha
