knight, d.o.t. this month is set to propose new fuel economy standards for cars and trucks. to what extend will those standards rely on the amount of support that congress offers in the reconciliation bills. and abby smith adds i'm going to summarize her question would the administration consider a phase out date for gas powered car sales like other countries or california? folks are interested in cafe. how is that going? >> obviously i can't get ahead of any policy announcements. but one of the reason cafe is so important and why there needs to be ambitious standards, part of why that matters is no matter how good we get with evs, there are going to be at lot of gas powered cars on our roads for a long time. so there's no way to meet the climate goals with evs alone and i say that as someone who wants us to have success in ev penetration, and it's a success. to talk about the opportunity that electric vehicles represent in areas that maybe aren't the first to leap to mind when you think about ev users, namely rural areas where you want people driving longer distances so they're going to save more money because they're the ones burning more gas today. part of why we have to make electric
