let's check in with bill martin. it was a lot cooler. >> yeah. the fog will stick around.t was much cooler. yesterday's temperatures came off ten or 15 degrees. today some areas, another 20 degrees cooler than yesterday which was already cooler. that fog really stuck in and did its job. out in danville and livermore the fog bank still here. you never really cleared today. oakland bit of sun peeking through but not a loto. it had been a cloudy, foggy day. look at the differences. this -- upper tier. those are yesterday's numbers. watch where they went today. we head toward friday. 83 santa rosa, concord down to 68, livermore down to 65, a major cooldown as the cool air is mowing in to the bay area. i was talking about it last night. strong on shore winds and we had fog at ten in the livermore valley. just a big strong push. the marine layer, thousand foot the average of the coastal hills but last night and today it got to 2500 feet. that's a big dose of cool air getting over the hills and spilling inland. up into sacramento. affect modestoo. that cool air got in there. what

our chief meteorologist bill martin says humidity is high, 45%. that is good news for firefighters and winds are not a factor. only 9 miles per hour. again, the headline right now, a fire is burning and looks like it may be a house fire. we don't know for sure but judging from the pictures, it may be a house fire. it is on norfolk road. north of highway 24. >>> authorities are investigating a armed robbery at a marijuana farm. deputies responded to a call in morgan hill. when they arrived they talked to two victims who said they were tied up. 4-6 men dug up marijuana plants in the backyard. they are trying to determine if that marijuana grow was legal. >>> a homeowner says it happened again. a driver lost control and crashed into his backyard. he says this is the 8th time that happened. this is video of the crash. happened last night on a curved stretch. took 25 minutes for emergency crews to pull the driver to safety. he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. the homeowner asked the city to put up a guard rail but was told the city does

bill martin joins us live in the weather center. >> definitely, unsettling weather pattern out there. right now you can see some tropical moisture. looks like san diego, as you look at that live picture. this is what the result of that moisture is. you're getting scattered showers, widely scattered, throughout the bay area. we've had that going on most of the day. this is what i'm worried about up here. see up in the mountains? this moisture bumps into the higher terrains, explodes in reds and yellows. that's enhancing the storms. tonight, as we go through the evening hours, we've got a good shot at some overnight lightning in the bay area, not just in the central valley, as some of this moisture bumps into the higher terrain here. from about 11:00 tonight till about 5 a.m. thursday, this is one of those nights with that red flag warning that we could really get a lot of lightning and a lot of thunder, so it's something we're watching very closely. i'm back here in just a little bit. i'll have the latest computer model. tonight at 10:00, that's when stuff will start to go on. we'll ha
