for more on our conditions, we're joined by ktvu chief meteorologist bill martin. hi, bill. >> yeah, hi. we've definitely got a situation around here where the weather was warmer today. southern california having issues, for sure with the red flag warnings, but it's not as long a duration. a red flag warning is what we saw a few weeks ago. so it's not day after day after day. it's going to be a day and a half of some pretty strong winds, which still very dangerous. overall, these are the highs from today. noticeably warmer than yesterday by a solid 10 or 15 degrees in some places. the wind advisory you can see it here. they've actually dropped it for the east bay hills. but the wind advisory will be in effect for these areas in the north bay. so our windy. we had some good winds this morning, but the winds are not as robust as they were last night. the frost advisory there it is again tonight. second night in a row. and then tomorrow will be a day very similar to today. not quite as warm. we hit 68 degrees in santa rosa today. now tomorrow. santa rosa in the mid 60s

chief meteorologist bill martin with us again. no rain here. no rain there. yeah, exactly. california. a little bit of a dry spell. >> yeah, we were just talking about the break. yeah. la if they don't get rain, this fire thing is going to go on right into the spring and potentially into the summer. right. so and there's nothing showing right now. the models are like light on rain. yeah. they're not showing anything really until maybe for us on friday night into saturday. but even then it's just minor stuff. and la zero maybe a few sprinkles at some point. but anyway, what i'm getting at here is we need rain right now. the long range models are not indicating anything significant, which is would be helpful in the case of southern california. instead, we've got temperatures like these. these are the highs from today well above the average, well above yesterday's numbers. yesterday's numbers were in napa was like 52 degrees yesterday. it's like an overnight low. but they ended up at 66 degrees today. so 1415 degrees above where we were yesterday in many places 68 in san jose.

with that, we want to turn now to our chief meteorologist, bill martin. bill, how does it look down there? >> it's better than it has been, christina. there are still red flag warnings, but they're going to get dropped here in the next 45 minutes or so. around 6:00. we are looking at lack of rain. that's the big story down there. that's kind of the story up here too. hasn't rained since january 3rd. that's 12 days and we're not expecting any rain until the next model opportunity is around 26 or 27. even that looks pretty light. the pds, the particularly dangerous situation, looks like it will get dropped down here until at 6:00, and then the red flag warning will stay in effect for the hills until thursday afternoon. on the hills of the southern california area. so we'll keep an eye on that. but not it's still very dangerous. obviously the red flag warning, but it's just not quite as severe. the winds today were strong, but not as strong as as they could have been. not in the 70 or 80 miles an hour like right now. the winds are two miles an hour southwest
