bill miller came off the staff of john sherman cooper, one of the saints of the senate, and also republican and he had enormous prestige in that senate as a gifted staff member and he was able -- he knew exactly what had to be done. he was an old hand and then i think you have to say that the executive branch, maybe with a little time but they ended up in effect supporting what we were all doing. president ford who was not an ideolog, part of the process, but he wanted it to succeed. you had attorney general levi -- levy, from the university of chicago who became a tremendous supporter as the head of the justice department in shaping regulations and rules and became a believer before it was over. so the contrast of this committee that worked together excellent staff that it provided that same background and then the kbektive branch cooperating not perfectly, but when you think of what we ask of them and what they delivered, one of the jobs i had was as chairman of this committee domestic task force, we called it, was to look into the fbi records some of you are with me on that process. well

earlier today, matt miller spoke with bill ford on what prompted the shift into racing.y had the car to do it and compete. and make no mistake, we want to win. we set about developing this car a couple years ago, racing was very much part of the discussion. talked to our race team and ship thought that was the place where we should start. matt: any idea on who will drive this car? bill: we will have to find someone else. you would expect us to be talking to drivers and there are no shortage of drivers that are lenny up to drive this. racing is exciting but it is a capital intensive endeavor. why from a business angle to you pursue that sort of thing? because a lot of what we are doing in this vehicle we can translate to our other vehicles. we do a lot of first on our race cars. you probably have noticed we are doing an ego boost engine in this vehicle. although light weight and the aerodynamics that went into this vehicle, those will start to make their way into our mainstream products. a lot of what we do with racing is development for the rest of our product line. matt
