i thought i would just talk to you briefly about countdown bin laden. i spoke to the club last year and now because of the reaction and what i wanted to accomplish it kind of t came organically ad that is that i wanted to write a history thriller and one of the things that struck me is i think it sounds a little pretentious, but it's written very much in the rearview mirror. we know what's happened. now let's analyze how it happened or why it happened. but to me the thrill of history is when the people were going through it, they didn't know what was going to happen. there's this countdown format i began in that case truman becomes president and is told that day about the existence of the manhattan project until he made the fateful decision in early august to drop the bomb on hiroshima there were all kinds of questions and unknowns and tension because they didn't know as they were living at this history at the present time it didn't seem to work and it was a best seller and folks seemed to like it so i thought i wanted to do it again. my one frustration
