the encampment nevado along binford road began with about a dozen rv's at the start of the pandemic. but in the year since this thing's balloons to include more than 100 people, at least that many vehicles. the county says its goal is to move all people living along binford road into permanent housing by 2026. until then, health upgrades are being implemented. people living along the road will get biweekly sanitary pumping services, portable restrooms and handwashing stations, a slower speed limit in the area will also go into effect december 28th. >> oakland leaders say crime rates are dropping in certain parts of the city, including the fruitvale neighborhood. police say a larger police presence there, including foot patrols and undercover officers has helped to prevent robberies. another big help they say is more bart officers. >> we have seen a decrease in crime in the fruitvale area. the crime analysis section reports of 43% decrease in robberies and a 29% decrease in burglaries. >> city leaders are also launching another safety campaign for the fruitvale neighborhood. it's call
