plus we will hear from target, macy's and bj's among the big names reporting quarterly earnings thisre waiting on retail sales out in about two hours' time. joining me now is wealth advisors president and founder, mark avalon. thank you for joining the conversation. what's your take on the consumer right now? >> the consumer's strong and they're spending and american consumers spend, that's what we do. and with debt levels low, the debt service ratio for households is low, household wealth is at an all-time high and with a strong job market where people can at this point get raises, have some pricing power in their demand and request for higher compensation, the confidence is going to be high. now, whether or not inflation is going to take away the cash flow we can discuss but right now they're flush with cash and they'll spend. the home depot numbers were very interesting. everything you mentioned is positive, same store sales, revenue, earnings, average basket size was up but transactions were down. and that tells me these higher oil prices will have an impact at some point. people
