vianey was tracking possibly some black ice on the roadways. that is a possibility with freezing fog in spots. as we get ready for the storm to move in, we have storm ranger powered up. this is our mobile doppler radar. it tells us the type of precipitation falling out of those clouds. and we will have a lot of heavy rain moving in, especially for the south bay, between tomorrow. and it really starts to ramp up sunday with strong winds and some rain. we see it even continuing into the start of next week with more of that rain streaming in. this atmospheric river not cutting off just yet. this model gives us an idea how much rain we can see. it paints a wide swath of four inches, maybe even five to six inches of rain in the higher hilltops around the bay area. we start on to see the winds picking up tomorrow morning. also throughout the day on sunday. winds south at 45 miles per hour sustained. there may be gusts over 60 miles per hour. the wind starts to wind down monday. but some of the area, creeks and rivers will be the russian river, napa,

san francisco, 43 degrees and really the north bay, that could be the spot where we have that black ice chance here the most. when i've done is i pinpointed for you some of the locations where it may get a little bit slick and slippery for the commute tomorrow. on 17 through the santa cruz mountains, woodside along the peninsula, st. helena in the north bay and santa rosa. hard braking is not recommended when we get into a slick and slippery situation. it may make you slide longer. so you just want to reduce your speed throughout the morning and if you see your car thermometer to avoid slipping and sliding in that ice. the microclimate forecast as we head into friday, thankfully, has sunshine coming our way. check out the south bay. 54 degrees, sunny sky and 54 in san jose. much drying after the storms in six days. 57 expected in concord. what about the peninsula? you have 56 in palo alto and dalie city, 53. when that kicks up, each though it's not that strong, it will make 52 in the embarcadero feel like 40 so take the jacket to san francisco. and for the north bay, 58 in mill valley a

black ice is a real possibility this morning. harper who is talking to commuters who are now facing t >> welcome back. major system wide bart delays this morning. >> it is causing system wide delays which are getting a little better. let's talk to averi harper about the latest. >> reporter: before the delays were about 30 minutes. now they're down to about 20 minutes. give yourself extra time to get where you're going. there are a lot of frustrated riders this morning because of the delays. this is the second friday in a row that there have been delays on bart during the morning commute. last week it was all about trains that were disabled at west oakland. this time, it's maintenance truck that was stuck between the 19th street station and the macarthur bart station. that maintenance truck lost a wheel. and they had to bring a wheel to the maintenance truck to move it off of the tracks and get the system back up and running. like i said, trains are running in both directions with 20- minute delays. but people are very frustrated.
