dean blackwood founded the label.sed to have them here at this table to talk about this look back into the history of music. welcome. dean, how did this get started? >> paramount is an inescapable force in this space. we had put out a lot of recordings over the years, going back to the start of the label in 1995. it seem like you were bumping up against it, either through putting out recordings by charlie patton, one of the kingpins of mississippi delta blues, and was a paramount artist. or through these weird connections, we put out a set by a white banjo player. some of his recordings turned out were pressed by paramount records. although they were on another label. it just seemed like at every turn, paramount reared its head and was irresistible as a force and so jack and i shared a passion for this stuff. >> the music. >> the point is to give people who may not know the story and may not know the music or to have the music in one place? >> yeah, there is plenty of labels like columbia that have been around 100 yea
