nbc's blake mccoy is at the scene for us this morning. blake, good morning to you.hat can you tell us? >> reporter: good morning, savannah. the roadway on long island just reopened. that's the overpass in question. and when you see the video, it's amazing that everyone survived. >> we have a motor vehicle accident. eastbound parkway. >> reporter: overnight, a terrifying crash on a busy new york highway. a charter bus carrying dozens of high school students plowing through an overpass, coming out the other side. the top of the bus, sheared off. glass was sprayed along the busy highway. >> the impact to the overpass was significant. it wasn't just a bump. if you look at the bus from the side, it's got substantial damage. >> reporter: video seen here, shows students climbing out of the bus. first responders using ladders to rescue those left inside. all 43 passengers and the driver were injured in the crash. at least one seriously. injuries range from broken bones to cuts and scrapes. >> this was treated as a mass casualty incident. >> reporter: 38 students between 16
