blake burman, hey, there, blake. >> hey, neil, i was here with a report out that the president has quot, quote, unquote, scrapped his original tax plan and gone back to the drawing board. i was given a little bit of push back as it relates to the whole scrapped his tax plan. here's what i am hearing from folks here at the white house that this is basically being looked at at 1,000-foot view right now. kind of top line principles not necessarily nitty-gritty details throughout. and what i am hearing is that it is still the president's tax plan, a few weeks away as it gets down into the detail level or at least a few weeks away until it's being rolled out. what i am also told at this point is they are just kind of looking at any and all ideas. the example that was given to me from one white house official this morning was in the private sector what you want to do is get a bunch of smart minds in the room, put a bunch of ideas out there, and come up with a plan. and in government, that isn't necessarily what happened. however, this administration trying to work more like the private sector

neil: blake burman, thank you, very, very much. we're going through fine-tuning of this. i do want to raise a little of how this will play out timewise. they get a 30-hour clock running after this. which means sometime late tomorrow, the vote on neil gorsuch for simple majority, will likely include at least, three, maybe four democrats, will commence, meaning that sometime tomorrow evening, late tomorrow afternoon, likely evening, neil gorsuch will be confirmed by the united states senate. oddly enough will pick up more votes than clarence thomas did back in the el 1990s. that was one occasion, a supreme court justice did not get a minimum 60 votes or voice acclamation. it was commonplace during the eisenhower years and jf kennedy years and for a while, early lbj years, nominee approved by voice acclamation. inadvertent allly unanimous on -- virtually on both sides of the aisle. that was the environment then. different now. 25 or 26 didn't have to go through that. clarence thomas is the one standout who was dragged through a bitter, bitter partisan battle but ultimately a

blake burman, thank you.er white house national security council staffer gillian turner on what to make of this busy schedule first off and whether it suits or in keeping with the president's schedule anyway. what do you think? >> i agree with you, neil. it is quite a big lineup for three foreign heads of state in one week is a lot. but i also think president trump and the administration feel as certain degree of urgency when it comes to these three countries in particular. a lot of folks have said on social media and on other places they're surprised to see egypt makes the list of the first 10 countries, that get to have an official white house visit. the reason, the reason here is twofold. number one, is that president trump really wants to establish better relations with countries he feels the obama administration sort of neglected, particularly our more moderate arab allies in the middle east, one of which is egypt. the other is jordan. so that is the explanation for those two. i think what blake pointed
