>> we are just south of cole, oklahoma, which is southeast of blanchard. we are literally right in the path of it and just getting into position so we can get great visual on our live stream. >> as you drive through oklahoma, where are people? have they taken shelter? are they outside watching the storm? >> most people right now are out watching the storm, driving around kind of seeing if they need to get into shelters. but the way the storm is really ramping up, if i was them, i would advise them to go ahead and get home and be ready to open that shelter and pop in. don't be driving around no more. >> all right. your advice is as the storm chaser out there in the grand storm is for people to stop following your lead and to go home and take shelter. yes. definitely. >> right there. see if you can pull up there. i'm sorry. >> that's all right, spencer. we want you to be safe. right now i'll check in with samantha mohr tracking these storms live in the cnn weather center. obviously we've been focused on just oklahoma. but this is a big storm system. >> absol

. >> some of that hail that was in blanchard. so the storms there, some bigger than quarter size right there as well. so these tornadoes of course always bring with them a lot of falling ice from the sky. so it's every insurance company's nightmare and roofing companies of course don't like it but they definitely make a living off of this in this part of the country. >> and of course as we said at the top of this if you're joining us now, word of perhaps the first fatality in the storm coming from and dale oklahoma. the red cross is confirming they received word of a fatality. they hope it is the only one because we've had very see veer storms. >> we're talking about people being ejected from their cars and the tornado, the big wedge that emily was following as well as reid and john? chopper 4 looked like it was going right down i-40 which is a very heavily travelled highway here in oklahoma as is i-35. >> if you're traveling through the state and don't know oklahoma, they can just pop right down on top of you. mike, you have mor

we're reapproaching as it reaches blanchard, oklahoma. this could be a threat for the oklahoma city metro. we're watching this very closely. >> and are you noticing any kind of rotation yet? have these clouds in any way begun to gather together and produce the kind of force that happened ten days ago? >> well, i don't know about the force that was ten days ago. it was quite a devastating tornado. we've not seen anything like that just yet. we have definitely seen some low-level rotation, and this is of immediate concern to people in this area. >> and as you look out, are people still using the roads? can you see people around? or have people generally decided to move away or move under ground, as it were, and away from being exposed to this weather system? >> well, we're not seeing that many people scrambling to get under ground right now. the storm we are on does not have an active tornado warning. it did earlier. we're still watching it because it may gain strength again as we go east. i'm sure people will take the necessary precautions

we just wept through blanchard on the way right now to chickasha., obviously, but as the rotation starts in the midlevels of the storm, eventually like an ice skater bringing her arms in when she's standing on one skate, if her arms are out, she's spinning slowly. when they are bringing her arms in, she starts to escape very quickly and spin quickly, conservation of angular momentum, that will take me another two hours, but that's all part of how a regular thunderstorm has to be by itself really not bound -- bounced off by any other storm to create the perfect scenario to create the tornado and america is the place where there are more tornados than any place else. we have the jet stream, we have the mountains with dry air to our west, the gulf of mexico is the juice, the supply, for all of the moisture to make this tornado work, to make the thunderstorms get big, and the cold air can come out of canada, as well. i believe we're starting to see a little bit more rotation on these storms where if not, you have to get back to samantha, because my inte
