bloomberg surveillance on bloomberg television and bloomberg radio. i am tom keene.fu and adam johnson. futures at negative two. it is getting harder to fly on the cheap united. delta is switching rewards for miles flown to dollars spent. is that fair? let's ask the point guide. why are airlines doing this? on theirake billions frequent flyer programs. when they increase the amount of miles that you need to book an award, they are increasing their bottom line. they presell these miles to the credit card companies. 50% more miles needed for the exact same reward. it is a revenue play. delta made a bold move by changing how you earn those miles. is this a real impact for the airlines for their earnings? >> it could be. there are a lot of different types of travelers out there. when you are on the road, it can be grueling. when they keep slicing, if they go too far, i could see a mass exodus of flyers going to other programs. united they are watching closely. this could be an opportunity to coach those flyers from delta. united has operational issues. their customer ser
