shannon pettypiece of bloomberg news wrote about recently and joins us now. you found a very disturbing scenario of someone who had an appointment to see a doctor ran out of meds before then, what happened? >> well basically his mother had been trying for months to get this man who is in his 30s, who had been hearing voices, having paranoia, thinking there were drones flying overhead the c.i.a. was in his apartment. everyone knew something was wrong. he had been hospitalized and in the the emergency room but the family says they just couldn't get him an appointment with a psychiatrist in time to keep him on the medication he needed. either doctors didn't take their insurance. they wouldn't return their calls, they had months-long wait or they didn't want to see him. he was a tough patient with a history of substance abuse paranoia. he was a difficult case. doctors prefer an easier case. after all of this his mother his friends, his family trying they finally did get him an appointment and the medication ran out. and it ended very tragically, he murdered his m

new product since the ipad in 2010. while it doesn't hit stores until april 24, the first reviews are coming up. bloomberg's josh to falsely spent a week with the watch and can tell you if it is worth your money. josh: the apple watch is a huge release for the company. it is the first new product they have made since the ipad and a depth of steve jobs. the watch is gorgeous in a surgical, sterile kind of way. like any apple product, it is not about good looks alone. this is packed full of events -- full of technology. the display has a new sort of pressure sensitivity -- sensitivity, that responds to not just where you touch on the display but how hard you press. when you get a notification, you feel an intense buzzing, almost like the tapping of a bell. that is thanks to an engine that controls vibrations. most importantly, there is the digital crown, which is a mac -- navigational app that you use on the apple watch for moving through lists, selecting apps, and zooming in and out of photos and maps. of course, the apple watch is also a watch, and it does the job of telling you the time just sometimes not

according to bloomberg's new pay index, you've got to see this.t is the first daily ranking of the nation's highest-paid executive. cook has the best pay for performance rating of any ceo. cook was awarded $65 million in compensation last year. revenues climbed 69% under his tenure to $183 billion. his pay package also makes in the 17th highest-paid u.s. executive. but guess who is at number one on our pay index? it is the go proceed ceo. he was awarded $24 million at the end of 2014. another stock that we are watching this morning is american express. it missed wall street's estimates. the company ended the relationship with costco and others. shares are down 2% in the market right now. is the worst performer in the dow jones industrial average. elizabeth covers the company. what is it that our investors reacting to right now? >> it is all about revenue. the company set a goal of the years ago that revenue would increase at an 8% rate. it has been falling short of that for the past two years and that continued this quarter. revenue fell short of

lot of fighting because bloomberg, i believe, correct me, i believe the deal required that the bloomberg newsnnel the neighborhooded, placed next to cnbc, fox is this channel, and other news channels. comcast tried to construe the agreement that the way and it took a lot of litigation and fighting at the fcc to straighten that out. peter: -- that was one of several issues that came up as to whether comcast was honoring the 150 conditions attached to the nbc-universal. and there were questions raised about whether the company had exerted a greater influence than their passive role was allowed. comcast has challenge that from the start and maintained that it has honored the conditions of the nbc-universal deal. that is a metric that that should make the case why they should be allowed to move forward. that has been an area of debate during the course of this merger conversation. cory: i should point out, we did not ask comcast specifically but they knowledge that we had a series of meetings with the department of justice and fcc. peter cook chief ashington correspondence and andrew j schwarzman
