establish the soma community stable daition fund community advisory community, car to advise the board of supervisors on expenditures of the fund. the planning code mandates that moneys in the fund are to be used to address the effects of destablization of businesses on soma. in 2008 the board of supervisors approved a soma community stablization fund strategic fund and authorized emily cd to administer the plan. the 4 goals of the plan are to strengthen neighborhood communication, 2, to support economic and work force development for low income residents and businesses that serve the soma community, 3, to increase perpetual access for existing soma residents and 4 to improve the infrastructure and physical environment. in 2009 we got the first uc deposit of fees into the fund and some highlights of our investments over the last 5 years or so include the creation of 49 very affordable rental units at a mixed income housing development at 333 harrison. these units are being offered at 30 percent ami we provided start up fubding for the creation of a new program at bishop, the bill sorrel housing progr

find ways to get weapons off of our city streets and there's nothing harder in my time on the board of supervisors than attending the funeral of a young person no matter how that person was killed usually from violence but when family members or parents ask me what we can do to end this type of violence. in the most recent homicide in the south of market our office began conversations with several of our youth programs about what we can do even in cases where a young person was able to get a job able to get housing and able to get his his or her life on track, to lose their life to violence is incredibly distressing and often the answer we come to is we need less guns on our streets. this start the anniversary of sandy hook there there will be a gun buyback. . many of the clients were medical marijuana club clients who wanted to give back to the community. after many conversations and learning of the work that happened, i was impressed that a small group of local small businesses would take it upon themselves to demonstrate a commitment to solutions to inner city violence to that end united player

"honorable board of supervisors in 2008 the city and county of san francisco board of supervisors established the voting systems -- mr. turner, she's in your county registrar of voters, correct? >> she's the registrar of voters and the president of cabo. she's elected. thank you. at the time and currently the san francisco department of elections was under a contract with dominion voting systems formerly sequoyah voting systems for services. one of own two vendors that responded to a request for proposal for a new system. the report by the task force in 2011 recommended that san francisco be an active participant in the movement toward more open and transparent voting systems. we acknowledge the complexity of moving from the existing marketplace toward more innovative voting systems and urge san francisco to move steadily toward the goal of transparency even if in incremental steps and urge the city to be a strong advocate for transparent systems and open as well to new collaborative developmental models. significant changes have occurred to improve the voting system certification process in
