joining me to talk about the threat from isis is bob baer. security bulletins typically issued before a holiday. is there one different? >> well the fact that they've gone public with this i mean we all know about the fourth of july but when they're talking about this and especially in the wake of the beheading in france and the shootings in tunisia, the fbi is monitoring people traveling to syria and iraq jihadists, that's not their main concern. their main concern is a copycat terrorist, someone who will pick up an automatic weapon and start shooting people or a simple beheading. these kind of attacks in tunisia and france are an inspiration for people who are believrs in this country. >> what type of additional precautions or security measures should be put in place given this fbi department of homeland security warning? >> i think what they have to do is start hauling these people in. the fbi can't knock on their door and ask a suspect if you've been radicalized. you need to do searches you need to get into chat rooms, you need to be more

i spoke with bob baer. he said this is starting to look like mission creep.have a clue how to fix isis. i know you think sending 450 american troops into iraq could be a good thing, right? >> i think it's certainly a good thing. what we're seeing is the potential for increased iraqi inclusiveness. when ben just reported that we're going to be basing the trainers between fallujah and ramadi that's where the sunni tribes are. they are having difficulty getting to other bases where they are being trained. this shows the iraqi government is taking the seriousness of getting those sunni tribal members trained, which prime men ster minister has been trying to do. >> the total is 3,500. is that enough? is that the right strategy? >> i think it's political cover for what the president said last week at the g7 when he talked about that they didn't have a complete strategy for training the iraqis. i think it's essentially a band-aid on an agreasegressive cancer. it's good if you can get the troops trained and willing to fight. even the u.s. defense secretary ash carter

let's bring in our justice reporter evan perez, our cnn law enforcement analyst, tom fuentes and bob baerr security analyst. evan what are you hearing from your sources about this suspect shot today in boston? >> well wolf the fbi and the boston police who are part of the joint terrorism task force in boston noticed changes in his behavior recently. we're told that they had seen some of these posting, some of the social media postings and frankly some of people he was associating with and they had increasing concerns that perhaps he was moving from just being radicalized by isis perhaps consuming some of the propaganda that we hear about and moving to perhaps carrying out or planning an attack. that's the reason why the officers today and the fbi went to try to talk to him. they certainly didn't expect him to have the reaction that he had, taking out a knife and prompting the officers to shoots him. now, wolf he's one of hundreds of people like this that the fbi is now keeping an eye on. especially in light of the attack last month in garland, texas. >> what do we know about the two assoc
