there's where nbc bay area's bob redell is live for us this morning. you've seen new surveillance video of one of the fires. what does it tell you? >> reporter: good morning to you, kris. two fire departments are looking into whether the three car fires last night were intentionally set. we can tell you that the one car fire here at the riverwalk apartment complex off south bascom avenue in san jose does appear suspicious based on what we observed watching video from two surveillance cameras located here on the property. the videos are grainy at times, but we were able to see the fire that appears to start inside one of the cars. we could see the outline of a person walking away from the car. a short time later we saw someone appear to casually observe the fire, didn't seem concerned, then the person walked off. could not tell if it was the same person as before. this video did not record audio, but a man who lives here in the unit that was right up against the parking lot fire heard enough to make him suspicious. he tells us he heard a car alarm go of
