bob redell, today in the bay. >>> you've heard baba talking about the wind out there. what are you tracking in terms of conditions for the rest of the morning? >> the good news is we will see cooler weather today and the wind right now is still breezy, but not gusty. that's what we want to see when it comes to fire. we went to see the wind calming down because that place one of the biggest roles when it comes to the fight against them. 85 degrees right now but the wind in the west-southwest around 13 miles per hour. by 9:00 or 10:00, we bumped temperatures into the 60s but it will be cooler compared to the 90s we saw earlier this week. we also look at how the remainder of the bay area is doing. gusty conditions on the coastline yesterday. if you notice through the interior, it will remain between 10 and 15 miles per hour. that is good news in terms of not gusty but look at the humidity. 87% right now but it will get dry in the afternoon so we will watch that closely. >>> now let's get a check of traffic and potential roads impacted near the area coming up in a few minu

bob redell joining us like. live.ontainment of the fire stand. >> reporter: good morning to you. we are expected to get an update when the sun comes up and the firefighters, cal fire will get a better idea where they stand. the latest numbers from 9:00 last night. so we hope they have changed overnight. the old fire, that is what this is called, the old fire had burned 570 acres and only five percent contained. but cal fire noted that the fire was much less active and that firefighters would work through the night to take advantage of the conditions. we are hoping to see significant improvement once the sun comes up. the fire was reported 3:35 and five miles north of the town near soto. several people were evacuated including chris miller coming home when he got a call from his house on soto canyon road. >> she's rattled but did a good job. the dogs are safe. the priority items in the car. kind of watching it here and trying to make it out through the smoke. our little area of the canyon and how it is doing. >> report
