we're looking at the impact for commuter, but we'll go out to bob redell. what is the situation right now, bob? >> reporter: not good. good morning. it's not a good start for the thursday morning commute here, through san lorenzolorenzo. northbound 238 behind me. a slow and go. not even at the limit. it will be like this throughout the morning. as you keep panning right, you see why. an overturned big rig that's shut down the connector to southbound 880. i spoke to chp. they said it would be several hours, late morning, before they can reopen this. this big rig that was fully loaded, overturned around 1:30 this morning. it's got food or items from a chinese food distribution company. the trailer is too damage or too heavy upright. they have to bring in another trailer to offload all of those goods. that will take time. there's the accordion-like structure on the center divide. that was damaged. they have to repair that. and a motor oil spill that needs to be cleaned up. that's the third and the least consequential. it will take time. this happened around 1:3

nbc bay area's bob redell has the details. d final closure of southbound 680 behind me here in pleasanton. caltrans will be shutting down this section of road starting tonight at 9:00. we are talking about south bound 680 starting at the dublin interchange. 580 all the way down to highway 84. here's a map that we put together for you so you can better visualize this section of the road that we're talking about. we are talking about a nine mile stretch of southbound 680 starting at the dublin interchange, as i mentioned, all the way south to highway 84, which is your connector to livermore, the onramp ramps for southbound stoneridge drive, bernal avenue, and sunol boulevard will be closed as well. the closure again to start tonight at 9:00, reopening by 4 a.m. monday morning in time for the morning commute. you can see in this video why this part of southbound 680 needs work. there are potholes and parts of the road that are uneven and deteriorated. this was originally scheduled for a couple of weekends ago, but was delayed beca
