john dickerson, nancy cordes, and bob schieffer thanks very much. in another major story unfolding tonight, more than 4,000 americans died fighting in iraq and what they won is being lost now with remarkable speed. more towns fell today to islamic extremists who launched a massive surprise attack this week. this is, in large part, a battle between the two main branches of islam. an extremist group that wants to impose a strict islamic state has taken territory now, highlighted here in orange, spanning from syria all the way through iraq. iraq's second largest city, mosul, fell yesterday. and here's elizabeth palmer.
