've the bulls were struggling to explain it away. let me talk about why. let me answer the question that everybody keeps asking. why isn't the dow down? there's a couple of things going on. number one, there's huge momentum in stocks right now and that's very difficult to reverse even with a lousy number. secondly, the market tends to rise on fed days could be the third thing and that is the crummy number the feds will continue their stimulus and that may be a big factor here. let me show you. there is an upward bias on fed days here. we've known it for a while, but the s&p 500 is up 65% of the time on the day when the fed has its announcement. here's what's really annoying. the following day it's down 60% of the time and the average loss is 0.4%. if you average it out over the two days it's about the same. the numbers don't go anywhere. it's the first day that always really matters. also don't just look at
