but we're going to go right to bob turk, changes every time we go to you, bob. >> we just had a new tornado warning issue this includes very close to the baltimore area. elk ridge and catensville. still around and still there's a potential -- there's still a possibility that it could create severe weather. southern and south western baltimore county and a little bit of south eastern baltimore county until 6:30. there it is. laurel to glen burney western areas. let's look inside it once again. that's the only way you can tell there's rotation to the north. see that little chart to the top of there, look through there. not really seeing a whole lot of rotation. i mean, if we were seeing reds and green in direct oppositions that's when we're seeing rotation. this cell still could produce something, a funnel cloud or something akin to that that's why they've issued a tornado warning. i'm not seeing looking at it with doppler radar inside i'm not seeing rotation. although it does seem to be something going on around here. around 32 and 95. that's heading right toward the city. we're going to see

let's check in with meteorologist tim williams and bob turk. bob? >> kind of hard to believe here. 6:30, still over 100 degrees in many, many spots around the area. particularly the urban areas. take a look at temperatures. right now, airport coming in at 101. d.c. at 103. much cooler in oakland. 86 in ocean city. at 87. with the dew point dropping a little bit, to 68. it feels like 107 on your skin. 107, easton. 108 in d.c. area. 105 up in cumberland. and as we mentioned, we do have advisories that will continue, in fact, for extreme western maryland, severe thunderstorm watch. that may be extended to our region tomorrow night. because of the storms we just showed you in ohio. but through most of the region, through tonight and tomorrow again, there will be heat advisories or excessive heat watches and warnings, in effect for the area. tim in the outback, with a look at what is going on. and what we expect to happen tomorrow. >> it's crazy to think that we typically hit the hot of the -- the heat of the day at 4:00. after 6:00, we went back up to 1

and of course, bob turk has been tracking the storms all day, all night. he's here with a look. bob? >> it's almost over in the central area, but we have pretty good rain. in the city, that's where the end of the rain is. it's west of westminster and west of d.c., all moving off to the east and we'll take a quick look. heavy on the eastern shores with heavy activity. in the city, we have heavy shower activity. as far as the watching and advisories, they just canceled the tornado watch west of the region and continues at 2:00 a.m. for baltimore area officially with activity going on over there. let's go back to earlier this afternoon, with strong stuff going through. we had numerous tornado advisories and tornadoes out. we had one out in portions of allegheny county, baltimore county. just all over, from one to the next. finally, the last line moving through. by 10:00, we expect some end to the rain. all the weather will clear up just in time for the weekend. will it? i'll let you know on the first warning forecast up in just a few minutes. >> bob, thank you, and pat warren joins

meteorologist tim williams and bob turk are updating wonderful conditions. bob? >> i think they'll all be back. it's just such a gorgeous day. and it's going to continue. look at these temperatures. just ideal weather. 78 now. the dew points in the low 50s, upper 40s all day long, making it so comfortable. 75, ocean city. and 68 in oakland. now, the rain from yesterday, some areas really got hammered pretty well, especially up in northeast maryland. elkton, over 3 inches. and some spots in northern delaware and southern p.a., had as much as 4. but around the baltimore region. the most we could find around the bel bel air area, 1.65. sparks, north of the city, 1.10. and tv hill, right in the city. as we continue to look for the numbers, they continue to drop. and most areas, about a half inch or a little bit more. however, when we get down to bwi marshall, the official number that goes into the record books, only a third of an inch. that's not a whole lot. tim has a look at what we expect to happen here tomorrow. and it looks just great. tim? >> we're looking at c

meteorologist tim williams and bob turk are updating just how hot it got today. >> let's take a look at current temperatures right now. they may be updating shortly. last report 98, 95 in d.c., 90 in ocean city. around the local area, temperatures ranging from a low to mid-90s, upper 90s in most of the urban areas, the city and columbia there at 91 degrees with the dew point in the low 60s, it feels more like 100. yesterday this hour it felt like 101, so it's a little bit dryer. however, easton at 105, elkton at 101, that's the way it feels on your skin. oakland only at 83. now, there are still advisories going into effect across the region until 10:00 tonight. all of central maryland, as you can see, east of the blue ridge. and to our east they even have a excessive heat warning until 1:00 a.m. tim is in the outback with more on the temperatures and how they relate to records. >> we've definitely been knocking on the doorstep of these record temperatures for the last day, and we will again through tomorrow until some relief comes this weekend. let's take a look. the average hey righ

bernadette woods and bob turk are tracking showers. e will start with bob. >> not a lot around here. a few showers across west virginia. one decent shower across southern maryland. not much in the north. there's one across cal burn county. we've been tracking it. that moving -- that system is moving off to the east. it will probably be moving across the bay shortly. around the baltimore region, not much to talk about. temperature wise we warmed up to 77. our normal high is 80. only 60 ocean city and 62 in oakland. we've seen a lot of rain lately. bernadette has a look at the updated rainfall numbers, which may surprise some people. >> that's the thing. this is a long ongoing event, not just what we've seen recently and these numbers were taken at bwi marshall not necessarily in your backyard. now, officially where we keep our records for the month, it's a young month, we're an inch above. for the year when you bring all of that together that does factor into a dry march and april, we are still down over 5 inches in the rainfall deficit

but first, let's begin inside with bob turk. bob? >> really nice end of spring, early kind of summer day. take a look at temperatures. very, very pleasant. because it's so dry. 84. but the dew point, 47 degrees. actually, 84 when you combine that with the low dew point. feels like 80 degrees. actually, lower than the actual temperature. 74, the real temperature in ocean city. and 72 out in oakland. now, today was warm. but tomorrow will be a few degrees warmer than today. maybe upper 80s many places as the winds continue to be out of the west/southwest. to our north and northeast, new england will see cooler temperatures and a risk of some showers up that way. tim has a look at just how warm this year has been since january. tim? >> well, the national weather service has released a series of numbers, all of them very -- well, just kind of confirmed what a lot of people already thought. that this has been a pretty warm stretch, dating back to last year. we'll talk about that in a second. but at the official reporting station for the s

meteorologist tim williams and bob turk have the answers for us. and they have the updated forecast. we'll start inside with bob. >>> a beautiful end to the week. after a fabulous week. for the most part, it was just pleasantly cool. take a look at temps now. 84. that was the warmest it's been all week. 85 in washington. 74 in oakland. and 75 down at ocean city. now, over the weekend, it's going to get probably a little warmer tomorrow than today. and on sunday, we could get close to 90 degrees in many spots upon because we'll continue to have that west/southwest of us. to the north of us, heading up that way, there will be scattered showers and cooler temperatures. now, speaking of temperatures, tim has a look at just how warm this past year has been across the region. tim? >> well, definitely, if you know that you have been thinking that we've had extremely warm temperatures, through the winter, through the spring, you are definitely correct on that. the national weather service released its findings from the period of last june through may. so th

let's check in with bob turk from the first weather center tracking the storms. >> another warning issued until 7:30 and this is for a storm that's located actually about five miles southeast of barrow. it is zooming in that region. southeast of barrow right through there, high ridge maryland city, savage, fort george, junction and guilford, on the aa county howard county line, areas impact could include the fort head, elk ridge and millersville area. moving 20 miles per hour and moving towards this southwest. baltimore region. we just looked at it and let's look inside of it to see if there is a lot of rotation. let's go down to the lower area and we are looking inside of it. there is some rotation there, not as much as you saw earlier but there is some rotation right through there. you see the different colors, there's some neutral colors but we have darker greens and lighter greens in opposition. we don't see a lot of reds, sometimes not even seeing the indications can still mean you can still see some funnel clouds or tornadoes developing in that particular cell, from laural to maryla
