but first, bob turk is tracking live doppler radar. bob? rain is beginning to wind down there at downtown. we have got heavy activity, north of the city now. around the phoenix, cockeysville, hereford area. and that's moving off to the northeast quickly. we have heavy showers in that region. there you see it. from parkton, down 83 to cockeysville. heavy rain, headed for jarrettsville, madonna, and northwestern sections of harford county. that can move in your area very shortly. just beginning to wind down. still heavy rain from towson, through the northeast sections of the city. from essex to the city on south and west. saw brightening in the sky. from glen burnie south, we've seen it. and as you can tell by looking at radar, the bulk of that activity has shifted to the north and northeast. but there's more out to the west. stay still see more shower activity moving into the region later tonight. and we're talking like 9k:00, 10:00, 11:00 tonight. like we saw. tim is live in the mobile weather lab. with a look at the updated hurricane look

bob turk is in the first warning weather center, tracking live doppler radar. bob? >> we still have showers south and east of us. take a lock at radar. we have a line of activity from about dover to henderson to denton. to the east of queenstown now. and just really around eastob. the strongest activity now is over southern portions of charles county. whether we have a severe thunderstorm warning until 6:15. the next few minutes, that storm is pretty strong, moving directly east at about 20 miles an hour. that's where the strongest storm is now. the rest of the region, from the city on north and west, very quiet. although there's a front hanging up across pennsylvania. we could still see a shower or thundershower later on tonight. although it looks rather isolated at best. most of the action now has slipped off to the south and southeast. and looks like tomorrow, we get that front through the area. lower humidity, dryer air moves in. a lot more comfortable this weekend. although it will be warm and pretty much sunny to partly cloudy skies. looks like a nice weekend.

let's check in with chelsea ingram and bob turk. >> reporter: the dewpoint has come down. wasn't all that uncomfortable although it did get to the 90- degree mark. we had shower activity southwest of us and northwest. and eventually it'll start moving toward our region. that's when we expect to see some action and we could see heavy rain during the overnight hours. the dewpoint still pretty low at 62. only 70 degrees in oakland and 80 in ocean city. how will tuesday and the rest of the week pan out? ? chelsea has a look. >> reporter: we will get strong even potentially severe weather heading into tomorrow afternoon. a very potent cold front is going to help to charge up the atmosphere. we're looking at a few threats. some flooding downpours possible because we have a lot of moisture in the air. damaging winds and hail. we'll be keeping a very close eye on this in the first warning weather center. we also have a slight risk for areas east of the i95 corridor for these storms moving through tomorrow afternoon. but then, a nice surprise followed after that cold front and that
