bobby lea is the one who started it. bobby lee just passed away. they were in this meeting with folks from itself, white people. and uptown. they were talking about how we had to stand together against police brutality and and the slums and fight these landlords and have decent schools and more. i remember this older white guy in the back of the room stand up. he said -- i'm not going to use the word -- but he said, if that is what they are doing, -- if that is what the n's are doing, i'm marching with them. bobby lea walked over and hugged him. that's right, brother, we are walking together. after a while, the man learns that was not the word to use and his consciousness was raised. this battle about poor whites and poor blacks, was about changing consciousness and fighting a struggling together and it changed a lot. they came down from chicago to resurrection city. i just want to add two things. a lot of demands were made. it is important to remember some of them because it is relevant to 2018. this is 1968. one of those demand's was $35 billion
