about 50 minutes after the first shooting we had our second death, 54-year-old bobby clark was shot and died at the hospital and finally, more than seven hours after the first killing, we have the fourth examine hopefully last, 31-year-old william allen was shot in the chest. joining me is city councilman jack henderson. good morning. can you tell us the latest there in terms of what the shootings were taking place? these were all in a predominantly black neighborhood, correct? >> correct. >> the shooter is a white male from what we understand. is this being looked at as a late crime? >> well, the tul sa branch of the naacp is what they're calling it. i am simply because it was african-american community and white shooter and only people that had been shot thus far is afro americans, so as a past president of the naacp for several years, i wouldn't know nothing else to call it other than that. >> from what we understand this suspect would ask somebody for directions and then open fire. is that what those who survived this are saying. >> one of the incidents, for sure, statement was made

. >> bobby clark and william allen were murdered on the streets of tulsa, these were vicious and cowardly at tax. >> the shootings all occurred in a small section of north tulsa, police found the first victim just after 1:00 a.m. friday, the 49-year-old woman died at the hospital. three minutes later two, men were shot, but survived, shortly before 2:00 a.m., another man was found shot, he later died at the hospital. at 8:30 friday morning, a third man was found dead in the yard of this funeral home. all of the victims were shot with a small caliber weapon, all were black. >> yes, the community is on edge, and they want this man found. >> one of the surviving victims described the gunman as a white male in a white pickup. the timing and proximity of the shootings have led police to believe there is just one shooter. >> identified a lone wolf suspect who acted independently, it is going to be a real challenge. >> and alleged white gunman targeting black victims has some tulsa ns faring this is a hate crime, urging calm, police chief says it is too early to talk to motive. >> it is not time

less than an hour after the second, a second died, 54-year-old bobby clark and finally more than seven hours after the first killing, a fourth incident, 34-year-old william allen shot in the chest. earlier i spoke with councilman jack henderson and what he's telling his residents in his did strict. >> what we're telling people is they don't need to take matters into their own hands. we want to give the police didn't an opportunity and to support them in trying to apprehend this person. we need to cooperate with the police. i know that there's pockets of people that have not traditionally done that, but this is the crisis situation. a lot of people are afraid for their lives, for their children, for their loved ones, and if you can't walk on by or walk down the street in the city that yu live in, then that's definitely a problem. >> councilman henderson says he does consider this a hate crime bus the suspected shooter is white, the victims are all black and all the incidents were in african-american areas. >>> all accounted for. that's the news from a virginia apartment building. amazin

in fact, i spoke with some folks at the funeral services for bobby clark today.t one of the persons buried today. so some of the family members and some of the others felt some degree of really anxiety before it was announced, that it was a hate crime later on. but they felt like that's what it was. and they were hopeful this morning at the funeral services. then to find out later on this afternoon that they are going to follow that line and they were very happy to hear that. >> you know, it's interesting to me, reverend, the way that many members of the white community see shootings like this and members of the black community. i understand that many members of the black community see this as sort of the really ugly, raw edge of racism throughout society. but the same token, many people in the white community say, no, no, no, this is an ugly, raw edge of just a tiny group of people who are this way. how do you reconcile those in your head? >> well, i was asked today, when we were in a meeting with minister jackson, jesse jackson, they were asking, are there any

[laughter] >> i am going to be a little bit political here and not name any names. i can say that everyone takes the best players are the ones that were playing the game and they were seven or eight years old. i can say with confidence that the baseball players of all-time that are great are playing right now. the quality of their training, the skill of the competition has gotten to the point where the players -- and the fact that we are more inclusive than we have ever been if you go back to the history of the game before african-americans to play, before we had the best international players playing. i'm not going to name names, everyone has their own opinions. i can say with confidence that the quality of the game today is as high as it's ever been. >> if you were trapped on a desert island, which do mlb owners would you most prefer to be with?
