all sides seem to point to boebert's overarching strategy.just go to another district. joining me now to discuss is adam frisch himself, running for congress in colorado's third district. adam, thank you so much for joining me. i want to start with exactly what went through your head as you heard the news coming out of boebert's campaign. >> happy new year to you and the voters out there. and the viewers as well. i got a call before it hit the wires from someone on our campaign staff and i said, i just got the craziest message. not only was representative boebert packing up her bags in this district, and not going to be running, but she was actually going to carpetbag her way 400 miles through -- districts to the eastern plains of colorado. i'm not sure the last time that's ever happened, or if it's ever happened, a sitting congress person has packed up their bags to -- challenger -- we've been receiving -- from all of the country about it. and so, shocked, surprised. i chuckled to myself a little bit. but again, goal number one in -- this jo

one was boebert defeated in congress. obviously, we've checked that box and we're taking a victory lap. the second thing we're very, very focused on and i would say more importantly, is to try to break a monopoly that's affecting rural america. and 90% of these rural counties in the country are ruled by one political party. and i think monopolies are bad in politics and business, and that's why i've been in this race. that's why i've been traveling 45,000 miles and counting so far. >> it does seem, adam, like there is this division within the colorado republican party. maga folks and more establishment traditional type conservatives. we spoke to the chair of the colorado republican party yesterday and he said he did not think that boebert moving was a good move. i'm wondering for you, if you go up against a republican that doesn't have the kind of baggage that boebert carries, don't you think that puts you at a disadvantage? you would be running a different race. >> well, no. i think we're going to run the same race. auth

obviously lauren boebert had a really tough reelection last time around. what do you make of her now switching to this and obviously republicans in the state who already had republicans running in that district are not happy? >> no, they're not. and health or is she moving? her home is way out of the 4th district. last time around, she only won reelection by a little more than 500 votes. it's well less than a percentage point. and her democratic opponent last time around was running back again. she is potentially facing republican primary challenge in that 3rd district. this is a move to sustain her political life. i'm not exactly sure it will work out for her. >> what does it mean for the 3rd district? who is going to be left there? we saw that political report which ranks how tough a race is going to be for a democrat or republican. it was lean gop, now it's a republican toss-up. >> this is a race, if you look at that 3rd district, which you saw -- in fact, they had previously been tossed up. they went over to lean gop and if you look, the third district

adam frisch is running again and his campaign has raised $7.7 million to boebert's 2.4 million.trict. ken buckholt holds that seat and is retiring. she saw the writing on the wall, moving to a congressional district that i believe goes plus 27 or something like that, a safe republican district now for lauren boebert to remain in congress one way or another. >> but she could have a tough primary. ken buck was sort of a never-trump kind of republican. you know, colorado is not a red state. biden won that state, hillary won that state. that state goes democrat statewide. so trump does not have a hold on the republican party there the way he might in some other states. i don't know. i feel like that could be a tough race for her. >> this is not unheard of for representatives to change districts. what's surprising is how honest she was about it where she said, yes, i am changing districts because i have a chance to win here. she generated a lot of negative headlines during her time in congress. it did seem like the beetlejuice scandal has hurt her and stuck with her in her district.
