thursday, the boe will announce a decision.y are expecting a rate cut following the country's vote to leave the european union. let's get some perspective from y..zabeth corle ,'m looking at the 210 spread the 10 year and 73, that's a very flat yield curve. that's a loaded question. let's hope that is just when it bounced a flat. very keyt's a question. we are on a bit of a knife edge in terms of what's really going to happen. we are seeing contradictory factors come in, it's a tough decision for the bank of england committee. on the one hand, we have sterling under enormous pressure. on the other hand, if they leave too long, any stimulus for the economy, you may trigger that -- r word. extent,to a certain maybe a rate cut would be the wrong thing to do. elizabeth: talking to our investors, they also would side with the traders. it's on bell less likely that there will be a rate cut immediately. we might see some stimulus such as funding for lending schemes, for example. once you make that cut, it is made and there's nowhere e

boe frederik, what can be learn from what ecb has done with corporate bond buying? there any jewels that the ecb has utilized which you think would make sense for the boe? frederik: yeah, definitely come in a very different situation. of course, the bank of england told us already that it will likely use a combination of tools and it could, and should, in my opinion, include credit easing options. the bank of england has its own funding. they could use it in a slightly different way, maybe more generous in terms of the majority rates and conditions. they could include corporate bonds in the asset purchase program if they decide to resume this program. that is part of the toolkit. i'm not sure that makes a difference in the case of the u.k., because there is not much of a stress in the corporate bond markets or banking sector, actually, for that matter. scarlet: very quickly, frederik, what might make boe consider negative interest rates? frederik: i think the governor mark carney was particular about that. -- wesk of instability knew what happened the start of this
