about ten days ago marin county officials were at bolinas beach making a routine inspection for a permit request when they noticed something strange, white crusty areas along the bluffs in the area known as big mesa and there appeared to be fluid seeping out of the cliff as well. >> so we took some samples in a few different areas where we saw the substance coming from the bluffs, tested it and the result was high levels of bacteria associated with human waste, so wastewater or some sort of sewage. >> reporter: on this day the bluff was still seeping liquid in places and up close it does smell like raw sewage. there are homes above the bluffs, now them on septic systems, so that could be the source, but the problem seems to extend beyond one person's failing septic tank. >> there is wastewater leeching from several points along the bluffs about a mile and a half. we are bringing in technical experts to help us evaluate and test what might be causing the issue. >> reporter: because of the threat of illness, the county officially closed most of bolinas beach until they can find and correct

they're pretty private in bolinas. just wondering what the reaction is that you're getting from people there. >>well, the public well, water, there's a there's a public utility district and why some people are get public they've concluded that there's not a concern about the public water supply. it's really for people who are on private but there is, you know, considerable consternation. i that we've heard from community members. >>about want, you know, less availability of the beach. and i just about what might be going on and what these long-term fixes might need to be. and it's such a popular spot for just going to the beach, seeing a beautiful the coast is surfing fishing. >>is there any cleanup that people can actually do of people want to come out and help and volunteer or does teacher just have to run its course? will portions of the beach or open the part between brighton and a wharf road is open so you can still go to bolinas. you can still be on the just only on the portion of that. that's closest to central

marin county health officials say bolinas beach is closed due to seepage of wastewater from the cliffsr. point reyes light reports testing showed fecal matter levels at ten times the acceptable limit for recreational water. no word yet on when the beach will reopen. and a historic hotel within yosemite national park is soon closing. the national park service says the wawona hotel will temporarily shut down starting in december, as park employees work to conduct a comprehensive condition assessment on the complex. the park says that it recently looked into replacing the roof on the hotel. they say that revealed more that the hotel may need to be totally renovated. it's unclear when that hotel will reopen. and the oakland roots soccer club opened their second community investment round today. >> last year, the team raised $3 million from over 5000 investors. today, the crowdfunding surpassed $100,000, just in the first few hours. this round of funding will support day to day operations and the team's move to their new home field, the oakland coliseum. idris arghandiwal, the co-founder an

the marin headlands, maybe some clearing here closer to bolinas, but still the cloud cover is out there. it's having a big impact on temperatures right now. san francisco in the mid 60s at 65. hayward in the mid 70s. san jose, a pleasant 81 degrees right now. and the hot spots inland not incredibly hot just yet, but close to 90 degrees for livermore and out toward fairfield. visually or graphically, we showed you that fog pattern. here is the real deal. looking out toward the golden gate bridge so you can see the towers kind of poking out of the cloud cover here. and the clouds always kind of neat how they kind of interact with the marin headlands here. but still that overcast is out there. a typical summertime pattern for us here in the bay area. it's a hot pattern once again, but closer to the surface we have those subtle differences out there. the flow here, that onshore breeze. but the inland spots once again, another hot day inland still fairly hot tomorrow. and then there's a system that wants to cool us off as we do move into the weekend. so it's not going to be a cold weekend, b
