you are seeing a selloff today in chinese bonds. we did get data, chinese inflation on the cpi front. it is better-than-expected and an improvement from the prior month, but if you look under the hood, it is a bit more concerning because it is still a weak picture, and core cpi also fell. this is something that some of our strategists have flagged as emboldening china bond bull's potentially. paul: thanks. let's get more on that better-than-expected chinese inflation data. how do we interpret that data? what is the outlook on inflation for the rest of the year? david: first of all, if you look at headline numbers, you would think that the data improved. especially since it was higher than expectations, but if you look at the details in the data set, you can see that it was mainly crude or and mainly pork was supporting the cpi. as we adjust the said that if you look at the core inflation it was still lower than last month really, so that tells us that domestic demand is still weak, and unless we have a way to boost domestic consumpt

bond liquidity index. it is spiking.. in this case you mentioned higher means worse liquidity. we don't know what will happen with liquidity out of japan although they tried to soothe nerves this morning. has liquidity become too important with respect to financial markets? i felt there might be a time, maybe it myth making where markets move on fundamentals? >> markets move on fundamentals over the long term. if you have a time of warren buffett, buy some stocks, check them in five years, over the short-term, could be a month or two they could move on liquidity. what that chart shows that liquidity in the market is getting worse. part of that could be the carry trade unwinding we've been seeing. the concern always is that the bond market is such an important part of the whole financial plumbing, that when you have bad liquidity in the bond market things tipped to go bad in other places that you don't expect and it could have very big knock-on effects. now that hasn't happened yet but it is definitely a warning sign and
