you stepped forward to offer pro bono help to women who donald trump threatened to sue.hy did you do that? >> first of all, i'm not the only one. ted boutros and others have done it. it's about time that the use of lawsuit threats by a bully, like trump, should be met and met strongly, because a lot of people, a lot of women might be deterred by his threats, even though he often doesn't carry them out. they might be afraid to come forward. it's not only them. it's all kinds of groups. a group that i am also ready to defend pro bono, though it may sound a little strange is the american bar association which was frightened into suppressing its own report by a free speech watchdog group which concluded that trump used the threat of libel suits to bully people into submission, and they ended up censoring themselves because they were afraid of being sued. it's really about time that people who know what they're talking about in the law tell this guy what an idiot he is and how unfair if is for him to use his power, just as he says his wealth, his power allows him to grab wome

it was during your tenure you said it would be a requirement that students do pro bono. justice kagan: it was earlier than that. i cannot claim credit for that. you put moreams: emphasis on it. justice kagan: i thought it was important to have the best supports that we could for pro bono work, for public service work. so i did put a lot of emphasis on it. i think when people came to this goal, there was an arrest number of students who were doing pro bono work. pro bonohe mandatory requirement was 40 hours and they were students who were doing thousands of hours of pro bono work during the time they were supposedly going to classes. i mostly thought that was a very good thing. increase, it is hard to do it as a student. it is hard to find jobs, you're seasonsg it in the same that other people are finding jobs, they all have their jobs at big law firms and you're still looking, so it is psychologically very difficult sometimes and then it is financially very difficult. to provide as much support as you can, i nancy support, loan assistance, summer programs. justice willia
