state attorney general rob bonta is joining 19 other state attorneys general. they're calling the layoffs unlawful and say the firings overstepped the authority granted by congress. the white house is not commenting on the lawsuit, which calls for a temporary restraining order to pause the firing, to pause those firings. and the lawsuit wants to reinstate employees who were unfairly terminated. our coverage of the government layoffs continues. in just a few minutes, we'll be joined by a san francisco man who's tracking how many government employees have been fired and what he's doing with the data. that's just ahead. another headline that we are following an arrest in the vandalism attack that forced a north bay elementary school to shut down for a day. the vandalism happened early monday morning at john reed elementary in rohnert park. the damage was so severe the school canceled classes that day. it did reopen the next day after a thorough cleanup. police say they've arrested 18 year old david beach. he faces felony vandalism and grand theft charges. no word
