[laughter] >> host: where you are right now. >> guest: i should also add i'm a faculty fellow at northwestern university's engineering school. the dean is a good friend. i didn't go to that school, but i know a lot of professors there. it's a spectacular institution. i learn a lot hanging out with those guys. the man hat tan institute, it evolved because i began writing when i was in high school, won some writing contest the as a young writer in fiction and nonfiction. i've just always liked to write. so i have a pathological compulsion to write stuff. but the manhattan institute evolved because i write. so i knew them, they knew me, and they invited me
