yoga i'm a worker cooperative member here and i also want to at the outset say thank you to c-span booktv for extending their their resources to recording and broadcasting tonight's discussion as well. i've had the pleasure of hosting various book discussions with michael going back almost 15 years now. so it's a distinct honor to be able to welcome michael to a home grown that we have collectively endeavored to create here in philadelphia. um, as you may know, michael hardt is the coauthor with antonio of a classic trilogy of radical political texts empire in 2000 multitude year 2004 and commonwealth in 2009. that didn't there with the trilogy followed up with declaration in 2012 and then assembly in 2016. that whole set of texts work extremely well together and and are both reflections of inquiry in the moment of a number of complicated processes unfolding a planetary scale. and i think have a lot to reflect not only the moment that they were written in, but but also looking backwards. michael teaches political theory in the literature at duke university and is co-director with sandra m
