>> that was a decision he made that went bad, really bad. now he doesn't know what to do. he's got 65,000 people coming into his city. he doesn't know what to do with them. he is reaching out to all state facilities that house individuals, veterans, disabled. he is making contracts with them and giving them a great amount of money. all of these individuals in these shelters and homes are being put out into the street and he is paying them big-time box. that has got to stop. in particular what is really disturbing and what really set me off on this journey was that in the crossroads hotel in orange county he made a deal with the hotel. they took 25 local area residents who were homeless who needed the shelter and put them out in the street to house people that are coming over. this is a federal problem and this has been going on for at least three years. we need to address this. should not be or at the county and definitely not in a small community which is very diversified and lives in peace with only 36,000 individuals. we are working. we enjoy what we have. in order to come in and upset our community it is not happened >> it shoved homeless people housed in your community in a hotel back out onto the streets in order to provide hotel rooms to illegal immigrants? what will this do to your city? can you absorb all of these illegal immigrants that he will ship to river head? >> it is impossible. we are on the verge of something that has been going on very quickly and riverhead dirt we are creating a town square. we have gotten $10 million grant from the agreement to build a town square. there is so much development and great things. the community is coming together. there is so much support and we get hit with this. it is unfortunate. mayor adams has to decide what he's going to do with the problem he created. he's not going to displace people along suffolk county. >> it looks like he will try, doesn't it? he will ship them out to you. >> he can try. it's a code order and a state of emergency. these hotels are not zoned for that. they are violating the zone. if we have to do like rockland county do to go to court and get an injunction, we will do that. >> if you opened yourself up as a sanctuary city you should be able to welcome them into your city and not ship them out to cities that are not sanctuary cities. it seems pretty intuitive and obvious to me. best of luck and riverhead. thank you so much. >>> here's a crazy story. a female army officer named dahlia to ray came back from active duty and found a squatter living in her georgia home. amazingly she could not get him evicted. the squatter named a bit since i'm in is a previously convicted criminal with gun, drug and deft charges. he was finally arrested today. dahlia is the owner of the house and joins us now. great to have you on the program. this has got to be something. you are deployed on active duty and come home and you hear that your house has been commandeered by a squatter. >> thank you for having me. yes. i am actually still on active duty. that was quite alarming to find out that someone else had moved into to my home. >> first, where do you sit today? he has been arrested. has he been evicted from your home? have you been able to get your home back? >> i did. marshals and the sheriff's office worked together to get him out today. he is now sitting in jail. i got him evicted today. >> that takes time. i have heard the stories of squatters before. that is no easy task. once someone barricades themselves figuratively in your house there is some kind of squatter rights that makes it almost impossible for you to get back your home. how did this whole thing make you feel? >> it is kind of unjust to find out that someone can literally move into your home with fictitious lease, with a company that doesn't exist. my house was not on the market for rent. it was on the market for sale. i had a contract on the house. to find out that this person moved into my home right after i got done renovating, it was very aggravating and i was angry. i was very angry. being away from home, had i not been on duty, i would have been in my home. to know that a career criminal at that could just move in and did not want to leave. >> i cannot imagine. it makes you feel not just angry but insecure and violated. i know it was difficult to get and it can be as we talked about someone evicted from your home. you mentioned you had a purchase or your home in the meantime. were you able to retain the buyer?
