molly is outside logan airport in boston. molly? 700 flights have been canceled all across the country and around 3500 have been delayed. here at logan airport about half of the flights have been delayed or canceled so it's been a big mess. we've seen that domino effect across the country. this snow we've seen all winter long has had a domino effect and costs communities and states quite a bit of money. they've been hit hard in massachusetts spending $61 million but that actually, despite how big that number sounds, doesn't compare to years previous. $92 million spent last year and in '09 $127 million was spent. in new jersey they're expecting a record-breaking year this year, fighting the snow they say. this was their 30th snow event and as of january 26th they have spent $35 million. last year they spent -- excuse me, spent $60 million. last year they spent $62.5 million. so they are expecting a record breaker this year. adding to the financial strain and really the logistical pressure is a salt shortage that has been reported acro
