i'm russ bowen. you are watching north carolina news. >> good morning, i'm stefan chase. all of your morning news and a check on traffic. first, the forecast. here's meteorologist alyssa corfont. we have a faint line of showers across kentucky and tennessee. she's are developing ahead of a cold front. that cold front moves through our area this evening and into the overnight. i think we can see a few showers made of it after 3:00. there will be a small chance. most of us will be able to stay dry and enjoy this unseasonably cold weather. we have the 40s, 50s and 60s. 60 in raleigh through clinton. 61 in fayetteville and 63 right now in pinehurst. here's a look at your forecast today. we'll start to warm things up quickly. i'll have more on the cooler weekend ahead. right right now a check on traffic. good morning.

i'm russ bowen. >> i'm stefan chase. thanks for watching us. we begin with the officer- involved shooting. a raleigh man killed monday afternoon. investigators tell us a senior officer was trying to arrest to kill dinkins. that ended up as a chase with dinkins being shot. the case has the naacp speaking out. emma, what's the reaction so far? >> reporter: akiel denkins was here on bragg street when he was shot by the raleigh police officer. it happened about 100 feet from where we are on the other side of the convenience store. his mother is understandably very upset. she hasn't been able to positively identify his body yet and has also had no official word from raleigh police that her son is actually dead. his mother, along with naacp president william barber, just had a meeting. record, he said it's not a cause for someone to be shot. he also said that he's glad that the fbi is investigating. he says he wants answers as soon as possible. the family. they say this has been a very tough night for them. >> yesterday, by the time they finished the

"cbs north carolina" just learned the two men found dead in a car in raleigh were shot. lauren haviland joins us live with the latest details. lauren? >> reporter: it continues took very active scene, we're off glenwood avenue in between the inn. i'm going to back up before we show you video, just to show you a lot of the parking lot scene tape. even past the crime scene tape police going through them anything. thrave been talking to witnesses and said they have not really gotten anything from the witnesses. let me show you some video of what it looked like earlier. raleigh police were called to this area about 12:30 this morning. they were originally called to do a welfare check. when they arrived they found the two men dead from gunshot wounds. when police say they have not -- they have identified but are not releasing the names, to us at this point but as we've been seeing for the past couple of hours a lot of family, a lot of friends, are coming here and crying, we have not been a
