and she joins us this morning from boynton beach, florida. >> reporter: good morning, bianna. polo tycoon is waking up for the first day of what may be a 30-year sentence. that jury deliberated less than six hours before finding him guilty. >> we find the defendant guilty of dui manslaughter. guilty of vehicular homicide. >> reporter: the verdict was swift. within minutes, john goodman was taken into custody, away from his life of luxury and glamorous girlfriend, who he famously adopted to protect his fortune. now, a convicted felon, found guilty of the crash that killed scott wilson. the 23-year-old's mother was overcome with emotion. >> and justice has been served. i'm always going to miss my son. >> reporter: on that february night in 2010, goodman said he wasn't drunk. but that his bentley malfunctioned, slamming into wilson's hyundai. that he hit his head and didn't realize wilson's car was sinking in the canal nearby. he told jurors he wondered away, dazed and stumbled upon a barn, where he found some alcohol. >> i went over and proceeded to grab a bottle of the liquor.
