>> through the chair, brad benson, special projects manager for the port of san francisco. supervisor campos, to your question, the port, working through the department of public works had bid a contract, a professional services contract for ceqa review for the pier 27 cruise terminal project last fall and e.s.a., environmental science associates, was selected as most qualified respondent for that waterfront oriented work and the idea here is to add the america's cup scope of analysis to that underlying cruise terminal e.i.r. during that bid process, h.r.c., the human rights commission had established an l.b.e. participation goal for the professional services contract of 15%. e.s.a. came in just slightly above 30% and the port's intention to exceed h.r.c. goals and contractor has indicated their willingness to meet their prior bid for l.b.e., so that would be 30% or more of the contract amount. supervisor campos: thank you, and thank you and the rest of the port staff for your efforts and it's great to see that. i hope to see more of that as contracts come before us. presid

. >> sure persons, brad benson. thank you for hearing this item. i am co-presenting with edgar lopez from the management bureau at the department of public works. we will be splitting a brief presentation on this item. as you know, the hosting of the new agreement between the city and county of san francisco and the america's cup event authority, along with san francisco america's cup organizing committee, was signed in december 31. it set forth a number of time lines for being able to deliver the 34th america's cup in 2013. the key date we are here to talk about today is that we are on track to deliver compliance with the california environmental quality act in 2011. the ceqa study work that we envision over the course of the next year is going to look at the impacts associated with all of the visitors who would come to san francisco to watch the events, and and all of the different locations where they will go to view the race on the bay, as well as construction activities for improving port property that are needed to be undertaken in 2012 in or

brad benson is here today representing them, along with their great director, and their whole staff are very geared to this event, and how to balance it with all the other developments we have been pushing very hard to do at the port. the cruise ship terminals, as you are well aware of, and also, they will be paying a lot of attention to any issues around displacement. if there's anything that the port has done, they have really communicated very well to their tenants. obviously, this will move things around a bit. i'm paying attention to that and working closely with the port to make sure that they fulfill all their obligations, and also, work with all the tenants throughout the port. our public works department will be part of this executive student committee, and i know that the dpw are all busy. they are busy already doing the work. and they have a tradition of doing great work. they are engineering. they are -- their architectural divisions, their project management divisions. i've been working closely with them on the 10-year capital plan, so i know they will be able to deliver. w
