were a number of contentious court battles, especially having to do with custody arrangements with brad stoneeceased ex-wife nicole stone saying that that could have been some of the issues that he had, that he wasn't getting his way in court is how she explained it. we've learned new details about the discovery of stone's body. it appears according to the montgomery county district attorney that he died of a self-inflicted knife wound, some sort of large knife found at the scene. investigators are still at that crime scene where stone's body was found near pennsburg in montgomery county. now, we can tell you they are not able to tell us at this point how long they think brad stone was dead in that field but they had been looking for him yesterday after putting the pieces together, having three separate crime scenes, havingç discovered they were family members, estranged family members of his all dead and then on the hunt for him for most of the day. when the s.w.a.t. team did not find him barricaded in his home, that's when searches around the area commenced. again, today, finding him dead.

she's the 33-year-old ex-wife of brad stone. at approximately 5:00 in the morning, shortly thereafter, mr. stone delivered his two daughters to a neighbor in pennsburg, the last time he was seen by anyone. so the children, i point out, i think it's a great significance that the children are safe right now. during the course of the investigation into those two incidents, both in lansdale and in lower salford, shortly before 8:00 in the morning, we went over to a residence in souderton, that is the residence of the sister of nicole stone, patricia flick, a tragically we found at that residence miss flick, her husband and two children had been injured, tragically miss flick, her husband and her 14-year-old daughter were killed at the residence, and a 17-year-old son was found there and is now receiving treatment at a hospital in philadelphia. it appears, through our investigation, the events that took place in souderton took place first at approximately 3:30 in the morning. so while last discovered, first in time. and at this point,

according to the montgomery county district attorney's office, brad stone began his killing spree early monday morning, first went to his ex-wife's sister's house in souderton, where he killed his exist at the in law, patricia flick, her husband aaron, their daughter and seriously wounded their 17 year olds son anthony who remains at jefferson hospital. then he went to the lansdale home of his ex mother-in-law, joanne hill. he killed hill and her 75 year old mother. lastly he went to his ex-wife's house in harleysville. he shot nicole stone in the head and killed her, then ran off with their two young girls who were later found safe. complete motive is unclear. we know he was involved in bitter custody battle with his ex-wife nicole over their two children, it has also been reported he was suffering from ptsd after 90 day tour in iraq. >> clearly we are looking at premeditated killing, a planned killing, an intentional deliberate killing, but in terms of how long that was thought out, or what sort of planning was involved, we just don't know that yet. >> to have an event like this reall

brad stone suspected rampage began more than 24 hours ago. here's a timeline. first, authorities say he went to a home in souderton around 3:30 yesterday morning. that is where he allegedly killed his ex-wife sister along with her husband and 14-year-old daughter and left their 17-year-old son badly wounded. he is at a local hospital right now. about an hour later, police say he showed up in lansdale and killed his ex-wife's mother and grandmother, patricia hill. he then went to harleysville where she hot and killed his ex-wife, nicole. >>> neighbors believe a child custody dispute could be behind the killing spree. the two recently went to court over their children. their divorce started in 2009. we're told it was contentious and bitter. neighbors who knew nicole say over the years they often heard loud arguments and fighting and when the couple's two daughters were picked up by stone they say a few times law enforcement would have to get involved. >> sometimes the police would have to come a. they didn't get along. you know how it goes when they start arguing
