we had a long stretch along the beach in sarasota, bradenton, 789 golf drive, and you have damage tohe roadway, you had five feet of sand, that got swept up in the storm surge. it was not possible. on saturday, we had negotiated an emergency repair as soon as the storm passed and we saw the damage but i said guys, we've got to get this done quick. some people were saying it was going to take a month or many weeks. i said that's fine, but you've got to do it quicker. so we were happy to have within 24 hours restored access to the longboat key section of golf drive and then last night i was able to announce that it took about 48 hours to complete all 16 miles of the roadway. is been cleared, it's been restored, the temporary emergency repairs have been completed, so now as of this morning, that is open for business for the residents and the businesses there. so we appreciate florida department of transportation doing that very quickly. that is certainly not the norm around the rest of the country. now since the storm has hit him of the state of florida has responded to request for a nu

bradenton is polk county. to look at these numbers, saint pete 18.3in clearwater beach 14in of rain. keep in mind less than two weeks ago we had hurricane helene. this was a big sprawling storm working its way up through the eastern gulf of mexico. yes, it stayed 100 miles offshore, but it produced a record storm surge in both of those places. so spots got flooded out by saltwater. that came from the gulf of mexico in the bay. and now some of these areas in a flash flood emergency are getting flooded out by fresh water. it has been a relentless a brutal run over the last couple of weeks for this portion of florida and even into some of the interior areas. temple terrace is northern parts of hillsborough county. they're well up over a foot of rain recorded, and that is just one hazard. we did see 1118 tpa tampa international airport, which closed down yesterday at about 8 a.m, a gust to 93mph. so yeah, a venice. that's the southern part of sarasota county gusted up to 107. egmont channel. that's near egmont key, which if you visit or you live in the tampa bay area, many people love go
