it's happening near marsh creek road and bragdon way... that's east of mount diablo. a lot of dry vegetation in that area. and people that area. and people who live in marsh creek springs are being told to leave their homes. joining us live on the phone now is pam temmermand with cal fire... (grant) the hot makes for dangerous fire conditions... (vicki) chief meteorologist lawrence karnow joins us now with a look at what fire crews are up against in that area. lawrence karnow: highs soared into the 90s low 100s in the valleys with much cooler weather in the 50s and 60s at the coast. there are more showers and thunderstorms over the sierra but it's not as active as today. it was incredibly hot in the valleys with highs well into the 100s. on the satellite you can see the high pressure ridge over the desert southwest. it's bringing the hot desert temperatures back into california and the bay area. it will remain hot again tomorrow away from the coast with some highs in the 90s and low 100s. it should start to cool slightly on friday and over the weekend. more fog and co
