brandy campbell. we've learned there's about 450,000 people that don't have power in florida. a large swath of georgia. adam klotz on where things stand right now and where this hurricane, storm, whatever you want to call it is headed right now. adam? >> yeah, the storm is not over. this is a look way out in front of the storm, charleston, south carolina. we can think of the outer bands of this. the storm itself is a ways away. we had a confirmed tornado move through charleston. this is a tornado warned cell there. several of these spun up. we're in a situation where tornadoes can spin up from the georgia coast up to the north carolina coast. don't be surprised if you continue to see some of these storms run on shore and continue with that spin. here's where the center of the storm is still across portions of georgia. you can see all of that heavy rain to the north. still a strong storm that we're expecting to weaken but it will bring all of these threats nonetheless. here's what we're looking at as far as wind speeds. wind spots getting in the 40s and 50s. we lost our speed t

fox weather's brandy campbell joins me in tallahassee, florida. what is it like near you?er: we are getting a lot of wind gusts. the rain consistent through this entire morning. in tallahassee, they are known for their tree covers. they have 55% tree coverage. with this storm, the man told me he was expecting this to be pretty epic for this area because they are not used to getting high wind speeds, consistent high wind speeds, so they are worried about the winds knocking over trees, and that leading to a lot of power outages. i just checked, and right now they have 44,000 power outages in this county of leon county. that is the big issue. i'm told that they did request help from other states to help them get back up and running after the storm passes so there will be some relief but i can tell you 30 minutes ago, i heard a boom, that was a transformer and two hours before that we heard a boom and it appears some of the power is out around us as well. the good news, we are not having the big flooding threat that a lot of coastal areas being that we are in land, tallahassee

fox weather's brandy campbell is live with the impacts of idol i can't. andy, good morning. >> good morning, guys. i'm joining you here from perry, florida where much of this town is in complete darkness. we have scenes kind of like what you are seeing behind me across this town. we got here around 4:00 a.m. we couldn't see much, but you could see the debris on the sides of the roads. the roads themselves clean, but the structures around, you can see this dollar store right here, the very front of it just toppled over. you can't get inside of this building, inside the parking lot there is debris as well from trees and such. so this is just the disarray the day after this storm passed that people are going to have to deal with and clean. i want to show you guys some additional video that was taken yesterday, just driving throughout this town to get a better picture of what it is like. this town was severely impacted because the storm actually passed directly over this town. actually, i want to show you what it was like during those moments as idalia actuall

brandy campbell is in tallahassee, florida. a good chance it could good over you tomorrow. how are preparations looking there? >> well, right now we are at the eoc, we have representatives from state departments as well as partners here working together to help florida prepare for this time. now, i want to point out most recently, desantis did update his emergency declaration including three more counties, so now it's going from 46 to 49 counties as idalia is expected to make landfall along florida's big bend region as a category 3 storm. desantis noted if it hits during wednesday morning's high tide cycle, places could get 8 to 12 feet in storm surge, and anyone staying is putting their lives in jeopardy. desantis just spoke in lake city, florida on this incoming danger. >> the storm surge is not something, you are not going to win that battle if you decide to stay, you stay behind for that. you run away from the water, and then you hide from the wind. you still have time to do that if you are in this big bend area, but time is running out very, very rapidly. >> and over 2
